How This 1 Article Has It's Own Evolving Life

As of October 12, 2008 a Google search shows this article appearing on 4, 310 web sites. This number could be plus or minus, depending the type of filtering Google is doing from your geographical location. You might only get a few hundred web sites. Either way, a few hundred or a few thousand publishings, it still feeds the branding marketing machine. Click here to see for yourself.

It's pretty cool the Los Angeles Chinese Learning Center always appears at the top of the first Google search page, whenever this article is entered into a Google search.

"10 Powerful Networking Tips Using Business Cards" was first picked up by Rod Colon and published on the Technosphere web site April 2, 2004. A little later Net-Temps picked up the article. Then Samuel Chong, Director of the Los Angeles Chinese Learning Center, approached me about publishing the article on their web site. It wasn't until October 2004 that I published the article on my Savvy Intrapreneur site.

Then in March 2005, Scott Ginsberg, that guy with the name tag and author of "The Power of Approachbility" linked back to "10 Powerful Networking Tips Using Business Cards" on Savvy Intrapreneur, from his article "Does Your Business Card Stand Out". From Scott's link back "10 Powerful Networking Tips Using Business Cards" started to spiral out of control, in being published on so many web sites. Thank you Scott.

This is an excellent demonstration of how each person can brand themselves quickly by latching on to a person, company, product or web site that already has high visibility. It's called riding the long tail.
